REPUBLICAN PARTY ENVIRONMENTAL PLATFORMS SINCE 1972

Picture
Source: NARA (Ping News, Flickr)
The Republican Party platform has changed dramatically over the past forty-five years. During the Nixon era, the platform focused on addressing the nation’s environmental crises, while working to develop new energy technologies. In contrast, the 2016 platform focused almost exclusively on deregulation. This collection of documents shows the evolution of the Republican Party’s position on the environment over time. The documents only include the most relevant excerpts; the full platforms are available on the American Presidency Project’s website.
